FUN JUNE WEDDING.
From the moment I met Samantha + Kyle, I knew that I wanted to be a part of their wedding day. We had a great chat about all things wedding and I was impressed with the planning that had already been done. Samantha knew what she wanted and was very prepared to execute her vision! Kyle is like most of the grooms I deal with. He's supportive and incredibly complimentary to Samantha. Now Samantha has a forward style of communication..."which for the record I love", so we got along swimmingly.
As usual a few months goes by to the lead up to the wedding, with our first time together being the engagement session. We decided a rugged field trek would be ideal for photos and did we ever get some stunners taken. Basically trains, planes and automobiles, well actually automobiles and a canoe! Kind of a mini portage with a personal photographer. I really love engagement sessions. They are a great way to get to know the couple as more then just a client. You can't be in the moment with them until you understand where they are coming from and get to know them personally.
Wedding Day Arrives!!!
June 16th rolled around and it was a beautiful warm day at a beautiful location for their I do's. The girls were getting ready in one end of the hotel and the boys at the other end, so there would be no accidental peeks. The boys played video games and smoked some cigars. The girls chatted and laughed away the morning as their makeup and hair adventure began.
It is a great honour to be part of someone's wedding and I never take that for granted. When someone puts their trust in you to capture their day, it is a massive responsibility to accept and I'am always humbled by it.
The wedding party was second to none and was really invested in Samantha and Kyle's day and that sealed the deal for me. What fun we had on the back lawn of Windermere Manor and the secluded bridge area. I had never actually photographed a wedding onsite at Windermere in all my 17 years in the biz, so it was a great pleasure to be there and experience a top notch facility with a caring staff guiding the day along.
In the end we took some photos, we had some laughs, we photoboothed and we enjoyed each others company. I made some new friends and appreciated being part of Samantha and Kyle's wedding experience.
